The Firehouse Arts Center in Pleasanton welcomes national and international award-winning classical vocalist Ao Li to the Firehouse Theater for a delicious concert of favorite opera arias on Saturday evening, June 29, at 8:00 p.m.
Popular San Francisco Opera bass-baritone Ao Li performs an evening of beloved songs from the great operas. Li is past winner of the Placido Domingo Operalia World Opera Competition (2013), and the National Council Auditions of the Metropolitan Opera. He made his professional debut to great acclaim as Gremin (Eugene Onegin) at the Seoul Arts Center in Korea.
At the San Francisco Opera, Li was both a Merola Program Scholar and an Adler Fellow. With SFO he has sung a wide variety of important roles, including Masetto in Don Giovanni, Papageno in The Magic Flute, Uberto in La Serva Padrona, and Don Basilio in The Barber of Seville to name a few. Last season, he sang the role of Colline in La Boheme at Utah Opera.
Ao Li's active repertoire includes lead roles in Le Nozze di Figaro and Don Pasquale at the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing. He is currently professor of voice at the Shandong Normal University.
