SHOW 7pm DOOR 6pm
Singer, songwriter, humorist and small town philosopher Antsy McClain writes what he knows: The good life.
Staging his live shows from a small, fictitious trailer park called Pine View Heights (patterned after his own childhood surroundings and experiences), McClain is free from an over-abundance of material things and appreciates time with family and friends.
Sharing his mantra of “Enjoy The Ride,” McClain has won friendship and collaboration with some of the most talented musicians in the world. With such a wide circle of mentors like Waylon Jennings, Tommy Smothers, guitar legend Tommy Emmanuel and cowboy poet Baxter Black, it’s no wonder McClain marches to the beat of a different drum. And his influences don’t stop there. His live shows touch upon Country, Rockabilly, Jazz, Swing, and a number of Pop culture references.
McClain’s poetry, heart-felt ballads and humorous tales have garnered praise from such artists as Guy Clark, Willie Nelson, Lindsay Buckingham, and David Wilcox, to name a few.
Newly formed Nell Robinson & Jim Nunally Band is a hot new country band that plays fantastic original Americana and classic country music. The band includes musical superstars Pete Grant (pedal steel), Jon Arkin (percussion) and the legendary Jim Kerwin (bass). The band has been in the recording studio putting the finishing touches on a new album. I guess it’s sort of hard to decide what to select from when you’ve laid down 19 tracks!
Legendary Pete Grant is a pedal steel player known for his work with New Riders of the Purple Sage, the Grateful Dead, Guy Clark, Tim Hardin, Rodney Crowell, Hoyt Axton, the Dillards and many more. Jon Arkin is a go-to percussionist and Jazz School instructor, with decades of experience on recordings and performances from Madison Square Garden and the Montreal Jazz Festival to every major Bay Area venue. Jim Kerwin is considered simply one of the best string bass players in the country, has also played with David Grisman for over 30 years and is featured on all his Jerry Garcia recordings.
