Andrew DIxon Quartet

Andrew Dixon just released his fourth album of original music, infused with his jazz roots, but ranging far beyond. From growing up in Chicago, to his travels around the world, he brings a sound that is fresh, unique and sets him apart from the typical jazz fare. For this new album, Mind Noise, Andrew wrote and composed all the songs, which vacillate between incredibly delicate ballads and more intense electronic pieces. The album inspires through its expansive blend of saxophone solos, keyboard riffs, plus drum and bass. This, plus his other releases, "Renegade", "East Oakland Run Down," and "RAGE" will be some of the tunes that he brings to Mama Kin on December 1st. His current band, the Andrew Dixon Quartet, is composed of the same musicians who have played in each other's groups for over 7 years and features Ian McArdle on keys, Justin Rock on guitar, Mike Quigg on drums and Andrew Dixon on woodwinds.
