Barefoot Chamber Concerts' March 17 concert will be a special treat: Anthony Martin, violin, and Andrew Canepa, piano, playing legendary sonatas by Beethoven and Brahms, and an additional treat by Bach arranged by Fritz Kreisler.
Fritz Kreisler has provided a late-Viennese piano accompaniment to Bach's Gavotte in E from the Third Violin Partita. No mean pianist, and a skillful composer, Kreisler was also perhaps the most beloved violinist of the early 20th century. The turbulent Sonata in C minor of Beethoven follows, then calm is restored with the first movement of Brahms' beloved Sonata in G.
