On Sunday/April 2, Anchor Brewing Co. toasts the release of San Pancho, a new craft Mexican Style Lager with Lime, with an afternoon launch party at Anchor Public Taps. The super-refreshing brew is a celebration of the rich Chicano culture and arts tradition in the Bay Area. Bursting with zesty citrus, sweet corn, and light maltiness, San Pancho is crisp and approachable, ideal for easy drinking on sun-filled afternoons. That vibrancy is also highlighted in San Pancho's bold packaging. The artwork is inspired by murals and paintings found throughout the Mission District, along with historic works from renowned mural artists like Diego Rivera who created multiple pieces in San Francisco.
Attendees at the launch party will enjoy a first taste of San Pancho alongside culinary offerings from local favorites Frank Grizzy's and El Pípila. Frank Grizzly's will be serving up San Pancho beer-battered fish tacos, along with San Pancho-themed taco fillings such as beer can chicken, asada steak and veggies picante. Through Anchor Brewing's collaboration with Mission District-based culinary nonprofit La Cocina, El Pípila will be on-site showcasing their churros, fresh mango skewers with tajin, and elote. Live music from DJ King Most will be featured throughout the afternoon.
The event is open to all to attend with seating available inside the Public Taps' taproom and the adjacent beer garden on a first come, first served basis.
With the release this spring, San Pancho Mexican Style Lager with Lime joins Anchor's year-round portfolio of beers including classics like Anchor Steam Beer, California Lager, Anchor Porter, Crisp Pilsner, Tropical Hazy IPA and last year's West Coast IPA. Fans can find San Pancho in Anchor Best Coast variety packs, and in six-packs and on draft throughout California. San Francisco locals can also experience the new brew on tap at Anchor Public Taps.
