Celebrating the 40th anniversary of THE WARRIORS w/ A Cult Classic Party!
A 1979 crime action classic. Themed beers. A pre-show DJ set . Not exactly a typical night at the movies--but then again, THE WARRIORS isn’t your typical movie…
Analog Time Machine and Everything Ecstatic present a cult classic party at the Roxie Theatre on Thursday, May 23rd to celebrate THE WARRIORS the proper way. When the film first debuted, it sparked hysteria and outrage. Of course, that only stoked its legendary status. The film tracks a Brooklyn gang on a mythic 30-mile journey from the north end of the Bronx to their home turf in Coney Island. Their only obstacle is every street gang in all the five boroughs.
To get the party going, we’ll feature two themed beers from Local Brewing Co, Honey Punches of Oats Pale Ale (made with honey from the apiaries from the fairmont Hotel rooftop!) and Chasing Haze IPA, as a nod to the scrappy Coney Island gang that’s constantly on the run.
Pre-show vibes will be provided by eastman_g, playing a set of songs inspired by the classic flick. The music will be as eclectic as the street gangs themselves, evoking the gritty vibrancy of a graffiti-covered subway car. CAN YOU DIG IT?!
Whether you love The Baseball Furies or the Lizzies, the Boppers or the namesake gang of anti-heroes from Coney, there’s something for everyone. Come out to play.
