Presentation: Creating Large Pieces from Tiny Beads with Floor Kaspers
Though seed beads are generally small, in this lecture I will discuss how you can use them to create larger statement pieces, wearable and non wearable. By following some of the projects from the inspiration to the execution, including some failures, you will gain ideas on how to create your own pieces from smaller components. Also we will go into ways to create colorways that you maybe never used before.
Bio: Floor Kaspers is a bead researcher and bead and glass artist from the Netherlands. She has written several books on the history of bead production in Europe. As a bead researcher, she became interested in beadwork and quickly created her own style known for subtle color changes and using small components. She was the winner of the 2020 Battle of the Beadsmith with a piece inspired by the colors of the Fall. You can find out more by visiting: Floor Kaspers' Website (
