Amanda Mora was born in the Texas hill country with a rich musical heritage on both sides of her family. Her self-produced debut album, The Ribbon, explores an impressive range of influences with a lyrical and musical sensibility that ignites the imagination. With a colorful mix of acoustic textures, masterfully performed by some of Austin's finest musicians, the album's tracks are topped off with the clever and poignant words of a young songwriter with and old soul. Since releasing her debut album, Amanda has toured extensively through the US and Europe, been featured on radio stations from Martha's Vineyard to Los Angles, was selected as a finalist in the 2009 Mountain Stage New Folk Contest, and has shared the stage with some of her musical heroes, including Alejandro Escovedo and Eliza Gilkyson.
