Steinway Society The Bay Area, the non-profit organization dedicated to promoting excellence in piano performance and music education in the Bay Area, continues its 20th Annual Piano Series by presenting renowned Russian-born pianist Alexander Ghindin. Unanimously acclaimed by critics as one of the most talented and original pianists today, Mr. Ghindin is lauded for his commanding on-stage presence and ability to demonstrate a level of musical mastery that makes his performances unforgettable. He established himself as one of the most sought-after pianists of his generation after becoming the youngest laureate of Moscow’s International Tchaikovsky Competition at the age of seventeen. In 2006, Mr. Ghindin was named an “Honored Artist of Russia.” He has gone on to win First Prize at the Cleveland International Piano Competition and, most recently, won First Prize at the International Piano Competition of Santa Catarina in Brazil.
