Join us for an enchanting evening with pianist Alberto Pizzo at the Italian Cultural Institute!
Starting from a young age, Neapolitan born musician Alberto Pizzo demonstrated an aptitude for the piano. In 2004 he graduated from the Conservatory of Music San Pietro a Majella in Naples and participated in various national and international piano competitions, always winning the top places. In 2006 he earned a master’s degree as a concert pianist at the same conservatory. Before composing his first album, Funambulist, Pizzo played piano professionally throughout Europe, Japan, and America. After the release of his second album On the Way he recorded and performed with many other prolific artists, such as Mino Cinelu, Renzo Arbore, Martin Ditcham and Pete Shaw, to name a few. His third album Memories was released in 2016 and recorded at the historic Abbey Road Studios in London. In 2017 he partook in a project entitled 3 Piano Generations involving a three-piano concert that traveled throughout Italy and Japan. Throughout 2017 he performed to sold-out crowds in Italy and across Asia. His current project is composing music for Rosario Montesanti and Pino Ammendola’s film A.N.I.M.A, which is expected to be released this year.
