Alameda International Film Festival

SEE EVENT DETAILS
The Alameda International Film Festival is rolling out the red carpet this Fall in the island city on November 2-4, 2018. For the shorts, features, and special events that movie lovers crave, AIFF delivers.

This year, AIFF celebrates the legacy of Robin Williams with a 25th anniversary screening of Mrs. Doubtfire on Friday November 2, featuring a live interview with cast members Scott Capurro, Dick Bright, and Geoff Bolt. “Working with Robin was unforgettable,” Capurro says, “and it will be a thrill to reunite with former cast mates.” Champagne, pizza, live music, and dancing will conclude this gala event.

Alfred Hitchcock is the subject of AIFF’s second evening. On Saturday November 3, the audience will be on the edge of their seats for a 75th anniversary screening of the classic thriller Shadow of a Doubt, with a live conversation with Hitchcock’s granddaughter Tere Carrubba about the man and his achievements.

Once again, AIFF has a slate of original, independent shorts and documentary features from around the corner and around the globe. These extraordinary programs include a furry fast food heist, the downfall of a social media celebrity, a taboo love in Iran, hijacked lives in Las Vegas, an orphanage with a dark secret, and a couple of gluttonous Japanese puppets. These are just a few of the stories AIFF will tell this November.

At the end of this amazing weekend of film, on Sunday, November 4, AIFF will present thousands of dollars in prizes to the deserving artists. Don’t miss this rare chance to enjoy a superb cutting-edge film, meet its filmmaker, and see him or her celebrated.

So grab a bag of popcorn, a glass of wine or beer, and get your festival passes now. AIFF is proud to light up the island this November at the Veterans’ Memorial Hall, November 2-4. Come and see why this is the fest that beats the rest.
