Legendary folksinger, storyteller, and auto-harp virtuoso, Adam Miller, will perform a concert of folk songs from Steinbeck Country at 6:00 P.M on Saturday, December 27, 2014, at the Museum of Monterey. The musical performance will be preceded by film icon John Harris (Dream Theater, 812 Cinema) offering a special first-look promo reel introducing the sequel to his film “Steinbeck Country,” titled “Mystery of Dreams 3D.” This special evening is presented by music promotion veteran David Bean and the Museum of Monterey.
Adam Miller is “One of the great auto-harpists and folksingers of our times.” according to acclaimed musician George Winston, and Pete Seeger is quoted as noting Miller’s performance is full of “Wonderful storytelling!” Frank Hamilton, co-founder of the Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago and former member of folk quartet The Weavers Says, “His performance is truly entertaining and riveting. He’s doing a real service for folk music: defending the Treasury of American Tradition.”
Opening the evening will be John Harris, who along with his partner Alan Web er, are well remembered as the owner/proprietors of both the 812 Cinema on Cannery Row and the award winning Dream Theater on Lighthouse Avenue in Monterey. Mr. Harris has participated in the production of many films, working with other and on his own full-length feature “Mystery of Dreams 3D” which also captures the beauty of the greater Monterey region. Further opportunities toward public donations to the project will be announced at the event.
