post-punk. new wave.
all ages.
$20 advance; $26 day of show.

Performing Live:
Actors
Halou
Møaa

Vancouver's brilliant post-punk and new-wave quartet Actors music displays their flair for sonic cinematics. Their songs have been described as addictively dancey, infectious and uplifting yet melancholy. Actors embraces their 80's influences with a reverence that shapes their compositions into beautiful dark pop masterpieces.

Halou performs dark music for dim lighting. The husband/wife duo began releasing tracks from their bedroom studio in the suburbs of San Francisco in 1997. For years, their albums gained critical acclaim and featured the likes of Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie while their tours saw them play all the major festivals and a US tour with Bob Mould. The band took a 13 year hiatus and is now back and more creative than ever, expanding their lush sound and embracing an ever growing fanbase who create fan made anime style videos to their songs.

Møaa might have started out releasing gothic shoegaze but her new sound submerges the listener in a nocturnal dream of pop music rich with pulsing 909 drum machines, catchy hushed vocals and glistening, reverb laden guitars. Fuzzed out bass lines from her earlier work have been swapped out with fat choruses and throbbing synths built for melancholic dancing.
