Act of Making is a group exhibition featuring contemporary artists whose practices are driven by experimentation, material investigation, and making as both method and meaning. Opening on August 29, 2026, with an Artist Reception from 5 to 7 pm, the exhibition will remain on view through October 10.
At the heart of the exhibition is the belief that the act of creation remains present in the finished work. Layers accumulate, gestures evolve, and surfaces record the history of their making. The resulting works make visible the physical and intellectual labor of making, where process becomes an essential part of the artwork's meaning.

Founded in 2019, Pamela Walsh Gallery is located in a historic 1929 Birge Clark-designed building in downtown Palo Alto. The gallery represents a diverse roster of contemporary and historic artists whose work reflects exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and enduring artistic vision.
