Driving Power chords, screaming guitar solos, and paint-peeling vocals will shred the night as headliner Trez Maschine delivers a much anticipated “AC/DC Tribute Night”, on Friday, March 10th, at Neck of the Woods in San Francisco.
Trez Maschine has culled a following with their “fast, fun, and furious” punkadelic sound. They fuse these tonal landscapes with heart-pounding rhythms reminiscent of bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Primus, King Crimson, and Rush, both familiar yet completely original.
Singer-guitarist Gorden Mack “My first band in the seventh grade played a slew of AC/DC songs. Their hard and raw sound has been this constant and unchanging backdrop to the rock scene since the 70s. Everyone being a secret fan of AC/DC, their popularity breaching through the surface when you hear those distinctive bar chords. Suddenly everyone is an air guitarist and pumping their fists in the air.”
Gorden Mack first gained fame with the acclaimed “slowcore” band Red House Painters (RHP) featured on 4AD records and multiple movie soundtracks. In Trez Maschine, the music has gained incredible speed and technicality, while maintaining the rich textures he made famous in RHP. Co-Singer, songwriter and Bassist Brian Kenney with drummer Kyle Malone, veterans of the South Bay punk scene, drive these high speed rhythm’s building this solid foundation Gorden’s trademark “guitar-scapes”, all the while pelting out these soulful three-part vocal harmonies.
