Palo Alto, California—The Pacific Art League of Palo Alto (PAL) will host two new exhibitions, February 7th – 31st, in its transitional location at 227 Forest Avenue in Palo Alto.
“Abstractions,†a juried exhibition comprising forty 2- and 3-dimensional works by 31 California artists, will be featured in the Main Gallery. The works were selected by a guest Juror, Bay Area artist, educator, curator and author Jan Rindelfleisch.
In the Glass Gallery we will be exhibiting the work our own Pacific Art League printmakers. The exhibit, “Stamps on Paper,†will feature the work of PAL instructor Mario Rosales alongside Servane Briand, Sunny Chen, Suhita Shirodkar, Caroll Woods, Amy Tang and special guest Katherine Kain.
In the Craft Gallery, local artist and PAL member Phyllis Lee will be exhibiting her ceramics. Growing up in rural upstate New York, Phyllis was deeply inspired by the beauty of nature. For 30 years she has spent several weeks each summer on the Rhode Island Shore where she collects the textural objects that inspire her work. Phyllis has worked in oil paint, watercolor and etching and now channels her creativity into clay. Works on display at PAL through March 31st will include functional and decorative pottery as well as ceramic sculpture.
All are invited to attend the opening reception held on February 7th, 2014, from 5:30 - 8:00 PM at the Pacific Art League. Come enjoy beautiful art by talented local artists, good music, refreshments and great company!
Gallery hours are 9 AM to 5 PM. Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
