An Intimate Night with Bruce Barthol and John Roberts
Bruce Barthol, the original bass player for Country Joe and the Fish (1966-’68) and resident songwriter for the SF Mime Troupe (1976- 2007), plays the songs he’s written (and a few others) to explore the times he’s lived through and the places he’s been. From Berkeley to Berlin and Madrid to Managua, from the Free Speech Movement to draft evading in London, to a hunger strike in Jerusalem, experience the life and songs of Bruce Barthol.
An Englishman transplanted to County Clare, Ireland, John Roberts has been singing unaccompanied traditional Irish and English folk music for nearly 50 years,. appearing in clubs, pubs and festivals in Europe, Ireland and the UK. He has been the front man for numerous Celtic, Blues and Rock bands. Including Fairport Convention and Ralph McTell.On Bruce' s last three tours of U.K & Ireland John Roberts has accompanied him on harmony vocals - and occasionally spoons.
