'A la Mode, Au Monde, @ El Cerrito'

SEE EVENT DETAILS
Barefoot Chamber Concerts ("an enterprise noted for both its quality and informality" - San Francisco Classical Voice) presents really good music in the right acoustic and without the formality of most classical music events.

Barefoot is delighted to be able to present a very special event: a new and revolutionary collaboration between several of the Bay Area's favorite period instrument stars, playing music that crosses historical and stylistic boundaries for no other reason than the pursuit of wild fun.

The program will be a potpourri of Medieval, Renaissance, traditional, and world music, performed on a panoply of bowed, blown, plucked and hit instruments. Instruments may include, recorder, clarinet, vielle, violin, harp, balalaika, harpsichord, and multifarious percussion instruments! Judith Linsenberg (wind instruments), Shira Kammen (bowed instruments), Katherine Heater (plucked instruments), and Peter Maund (hit instruments). Free to concert-goers 18 and younger - bring your friends, family, and students! Buy tickets now!

The players need no introduction: all four have been regulars of the Bay Area early music scene for decades. You'll just have to come to find out what exactly they have in mind for your aural delight.

There will, of course, be the usual Barefoot snax. The newly acoustically refurbished hall at the El Cerrito Hillside Swedenborgian church will provide the perfect place for this concert. Don't miss this unique occasion!
