Brendan James

Brendan James’ latest EP, The Howl, finds the singer-songwriter steering into new territory, discovering the courage to release a brave new sound, while staying respectful to his meaningful history and the depth of his lyric and message.
From the opening declaration of “Bring My Love Home” to its conclusion, it is clear James has out done even his own expectations.

For those who have followed Brendan James from his 2008 major label debut, to his current ranking among today's top troubadours; the journey has been a pretty remarkable one.

Born in New Hampshire, schooled in Chapel Hill, signed by Capitol Records by the age of 25, and road tested with over 1,000 shows to date, James has certainly lived the troubadour life. His songs have landed spots on over 15 major television shows and feature films, as well as achieving the #1 Singer Songwriter spot on iTunes, multiple times. He has formed relationships with music legends Carly Simon and Cat Stevens, enjoyed on stage experiences with the likes of John Legend, John Mayer, and Paula Cole, and recently been asked to give a TED Talk on gun violence, love songs, and simpler societies.

His new EP, The Howl, is bigger, badder and dancier than anything he's attempted to date. In his words, ‘The Howl' is "...a reflection of my years on the road, my dreams broken and reformed, and my growing addiction to the upbeat and the feel good." He chose the name after reading a review of his last album, in which he was described as an artist holding back a howl.

So howl he will do. Bigger songs, bigger shows, and bigger goals.

Mia Dyson

Mia Dyson is an award-winning guitarist and singer/songwriter who has toured with the likes of Eric Clapton, Bonnie Raitt and many more. A multiple ARIA & APRA award-winning artist, Dyson was recently named one of Australia’s top 25 guitarists of all time. Her albums have been widely praised.

In January of 2017, Mia headed to legendary music mecca Muscle Shoals, Alabama to record a new album with Ben Tanner (Alabama Shakes, St Paul & The Broken Bones) behind the controls. Joined in the studio by longtime drummer Erin "Syd" Sidney, original 'Swamper,' David Hood, on bass and John Paul White (The Civil Wars) on background vocals. As the first of Dyson’s albums to be released through a label (White and Tanner’s Single Lock Records), “If I Said Only So Far I Take It Back” is the latest addition to a catalog including 2014’s “Idyllwild” (praised by such outlets as Rolling Stone Australia) and 2012’s “The Moment” (an ARIA Music Awards nominee for Best Blues & Roots Album).

Throughout “If I Said Only So Far I Take It Back,” Dyson adds a stylistic unpredictability to her soulful, introspective strain of rock music. The result is an album offering her most frenetic guitar work and delicate vocal performance yet—a dynamic that echoes her examination of conflict and acceptance.

“In the past few years I’ve gotten into meditation and studying philosophy, and through that I’ve found that whenever I’m against something, I suffer,” Dyson says in discussing the album’s themes. “My mission now is to be open to the world as it is, especially at a time where there’s so much division. Which isn’t to say I don’t want change—but in the moment I’ve got to be open to what’s really going on, instead of always fighting against it.”
