Acting Out is a fun and provocative medley of performers, including talented comedians, authors, and musicians who join us in our commitment to women’s health. Not only does Acting Out entertain, but the event provides an opportunity for attendees to invest in our mission to achieve health justice for all women at risk of and living with breast cancer. This year, we’re shaking things up with a new venue. Not your average breast cancer organization, Breast Cancer Action is fiercely independent and refuses corporate funding from any company or organization that profits from or contributes to breast cancer. As the watchdog of the breast cancer movement, we educate, organize, and take action for systemic change to ensure that fewer women develop and die from breast cancer, and so that no community bears a disproportionate burden of diagnosis or death from this disease. Support from individuals, through events like these, ensures that we can maintain our independent voice—free from real or perceived conflict of interest.
