Despite years of experimentation by contemporary artists, Still Life as a subject matter remains a traditional genre in the contemporary mindset. Although many contemporary artists continue to uphold, in one way or another, the very classic elements of the tradition---the artists in this exhibit represent various approaches that are more relevant and more invested with personal experience.
Visual Aid helps produce, present, and preserve the work of professional artists whose careers are challenged because of a life-threatening illness. Visual Aid serves professional artists from the nine-county Bay Area, providing artists with direct services from art supplies to exhibitions and career development.
