Environmental Activist Artist Rory Terrell is at it again, but this time he's trying to rattle some cages with a twist by mixing used motor oil with a few flags. With all the major changes happening to our country since the Trump administration stepped in, Rory felt it was time to speak up even louder than before. His voice is 50 American flags, each saturated in a quart of used motor oil and encased in acrylic glass.
Rory is best known for re-purposing used motor oil in his artwork, saturating sand paintings or canvas inside of an acrylic container. Creating a sliver of pollution to express his disdain against the oil conglomerates polluting our planet. But know that the E.P.A. is on the verge of death, our national parks are in danger of being sold to big business, Native American lands are in jeopardy, and another war lurking in the dark on the other side of the world. Rory wants to bring attention to what is happening and show people that there is a cost. A big cost! To our soldier's lives and the freedom of people - all for the dying industry of crude oil.
Come celebrate the lives of the fallen soldiers with us at the Lottie Rose Gallery, August 12th from 5 - 10 pm to witness this astounding new form of conceptual painting of sculptural mixed media and re-purposed material.
