SAMBADA
Dubbed the West Coast’s hottest Brazilian band by promoters, journalists and fans, SambaDá musically unites the Americas. Based in the rich musical traditions of Brazil, SambaDá also references salsa and cumbia, and blends them playfully with funk and reggae beats. Brazilian natives Papiba Godinho and Dandha da Hora bring profound knowledge and respect for Brazilian music, and together with the entire band, they present a unique musical sound with a universal appeal.

SambaDá was formed in 1998 in Santa Cruz, California, by capoeira master Papiba Godinho, saxophonist Anne Stafford, and drummer Gary Kehoe and has gone on to conquer clubs and festivals across the country with its explosive Carnival-like performances. The band is known for its high-energy percussion, danceable grooves and visually dynamic show

SANG MATIZ
Sang Matiz has been performing a collection of original and cover songs for 7 years, fusing energetic World and Afro-Brazilian/Peruvian beats with contemporary rhythms such as Pop, Jazz, and Funk. Thanks to a grant awarded by The California Arts Council Endowment for the Arts and The San Francisco Arts Commission for Cultural Equity, they released the album, “Ship It!,” and are currently in production of their second album. In August 2015, they were chosen and honored to open for the legendary Cuban band Buena Vista Social Club Orchestra for their final “Adios Tour," followed by a 2016 invitation to share a stage with the eclectic and distinguished LA-based band, Ozomatli. In light of Sang Matiz's continued success and growing popularity, they will be joining forces in May of 2017 with the vibrant and internationally famed Gypsy Kings. Throughout the years, they’ve also collaborated with various renowned Bay Area musicians such as: Mario Alberto Silva (Master Trumpeter), Miguelito Martinez (Master Flutist/Composer), and Grammy Award-winner Braulio Barrera (Pacific Mambo Orchestra), among many other national and global acts as Jorge Santana (Malo) and Pete Escovedo.

XAXADO MISSION
Xaxado Mission is a San Francisco based Brazilian band. We specialize in Forró, a genre of music originated in Northeastern Brazil.

COLETIVO DESBORDAR
Coletivo Desbordar is a feminist, anti-racist, leftist and anti-capitalist group of Brazilian immigrant women and gender-non-conforming people in the Bay Area. Through direct actions, media campaigns, study groups, support groups and workshops, we aim to:
-show transnational solidarity with leftist, feminist and intersectional social movements in Brazil;
-mobilize the Brazilian community in the Bay Area towards local struggles against capitalism, imperialism, racism, sexism, homophobia, and xenophobia;
-create spaces of empowerment and support for women and non-binary Brazilian immigrants in the Bay Area group dedicated to lifting the oppression and coup in Brazil.
