October is Arts & Culture Month in Emeryville
The 39th Annual Emeryville Art Exhibition -open through out the month- celebrates art and artists and serves as a hub for creative exploration and participation.
This juried group show features more than 200 works created by over 140 artists and craftspeople who live or work in Emeryville. The exhibition features artists of all media, including paintings, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, works in wood, and textiles, digital artworks, and original music, along with performance art and poetry.
Emeryville's Arts & Culture Month kicks off with the Opening Night Reception of the Annual Art Exhibition on Friday October 3rd and comes to a close with a poetry and music event hosted by Emeryville's former Poet Laureate Sarah Kobrinsky on Sunday, October 26th in the exhibition courtyard.
The Annual Exhibition will also host special arts events during the month including an ekphrastic poetry writing workshop led by Kobrinsky and a live dance performance by Nancy Karp + Dancers in the exhibition gallery.
