An evening of dance and music with performances of
"2125 Street" by choreographer Dahlia Nayar
followed by a performance by Trio Tritticali, a New York based eclectic string trio.
"2125 Street" is a deeply personal investigation of
the beauty and challenge of creating multiple habitats scattered around the globe in contemporary society. Using minimal domestic objects and tasks (socks,
clotheslines, pots and pans) and an evocative soundscape, they reconstruct or re-imagine a poetic consciousness with a focus on
intimate exchange within the realm of the domestic. Performers include dancer Margaret Paek and cellist Loren Kiyoshi Dempster.
Trio Tritticali boldly goes where no string trio has gone before. Seeking out new styles -- Jazz, Tango, African, Middle Eastern-- and new forms of music, original and standard, Tritticali creates a new jamming universe of string sound. They will be performing selections from their debut CD, "Issue #1"
Both performances are San Francisco debuts as part of their western tour. Admission is $15 suggested donation.
