Open Studios at Sanchez Art Center, Nov 15-16, 2019
Twenty-five artists invite you to visit their studios and see their work at Sanchez Art Center in Pacifica. The 2019 Open Studios event begins with an Opening Party on Friday, Nov 15, from 6 to 9 pm, with wine provided by Sanchez Art Center as a fundraising activity, and light snacks. Live music for the Opening Party by the Rob Hughes Trio (guitar, bass, and drums) will include Brazilian music and jazz. Open Studios then continues on Saturday, Nov 16, from 11 to 5 pm. Browse (and buy) art by local professional artists in a variety of media--painting, printmaking, photography, encaustic, sculpture, textiles, mixed media, and jewelry.
This is a great chance to explore what Sanchez Art Center is all about, especially if you haven't visited before. Feel free to ask questions and get to know the artists. Learn about the inspirations and techniques they rely on, the tools and materials they use, how they began making art, and what keeps them creating. During Open Studios, all three galleries will be open to the public, presenting the Art Guild of Pacifica's 61st Annual Members Show in East and West Galleries, and in the Main Gallery, an exhibit by the 60th Annual Awards Artists, including photographs by Vadim Dymshyts, mixed media assemblage by Nancy Hall, glass artworks by Andrew Leone, and colorful poured paintings by Glynis Takalo. Both of these exhibitions will run through Sunday, Nov 24.
Sanchez Art Center is located at 1220 Linda Mar Blvd in Pacifica, about a mile east of Highway 1, in the building behind the beautiful mural. Parking is free.
