Burma Superstar Owners Announce the Opening of New Restaurant

The owners of Burma Superstar announced that they will be opening a new restaurant in the Mid-Market area, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Desmond Tan, one of the co-founders of Burma Superstar, said the new restaurant will be in Mint Plaza in SoMA, near the SF Mint between 5th and 6th Street.

Burma Superstar’s Clement Street location is wildly popular and famous for their tea leaf salads, which according to Yelp, is one of the Top 10 most popular dishes in the country. It’s since grown to include restaurant locations in Oakland and Alameda; alongside sister restaurants B Star Bar (about a block away from the original Clement location) and Burma Love in the Mission.

Tan says that the new restaurant is still in the early stages of planning, so it hasn’t been named yet. However, he has confirmed that the restaurant will be a Burmese restaurant. We’ll share more info as it becomes available!
