Radiant Pictures from Do LaB’s Lightning in a Bottle Festival 2017

LIB this year was a true kickoff to a wet hot American summer. The lake transformed the grounds into an oasis of electronic music filled with floaties, ice-filled coolers, and minimal clothing. Bassnectar returned to the festival that he blew up with his first LIB performance in 2012, only to annihilate the crowd with wobbles and stunning laser lights. Bonobo soothed tired bodies with his melodious performance featuring the full band, and Kaytranada dropped the funk hard with his signature downtempo, off-kilter beats. The woogie pulsed all weekend with groovy techno, highlighted by the legendary Richie Hawtin on Sunday and Guy J carrying the Saturday peak set. Familiar art installations and smaller stages returned to beautify the grounds, and while this was the biggest Lightning in a Bottle yet, the Do LaB somehow managed to preserve the loving burner vibes of community and acceptance.
