Photos: More Than 100,000 Strong at Women’s March in San Francisco

Millions of women, men and children gathered in cities across the country only one day after the inauguration of our 45th President (See the crowd estimates spreadsheet). According to police, the peaceful protest from Civic Center to Justin Herman Plaza, had no arrests.

The very next day, Trump was uncharacteristically unTrump when he tweeted “Peaceful protests are a hallmark of our democracy. Even if I don’t always agree, I recognize the rights of people to express their views.”

*Crowd estimates vary, one local website reports over 100,000 – but if BART estimates 361,000 riders, this may indicate a much higher attendance. BART’s estimate for Saturday exceeds the ridership numbers for Oct 6, 2012 – the SF Giants World Series (319,484) but falls slightly below the busiest Saturday ever recorded on Feb 6, 2016 (419,162).
