About Mikos Da Gawd:
Born and raised in San Francisco Miles’ initial musical influence can be traced right to the city itself; its vibrancy and physical beauty, the wide spectrum of its urban inhabitants, its deep roots in creating art, the ever-present fog. His introduction to production came with an afterschool program at the Beacon Center at his middle school, where he learned Fruity Loops, and the quest for making beats quickly took over his headspace and free time. He began collaborating with his peers making music, some of who included George Watsky and Adam Vida, and eventually became a part of the group 40Love which put out three albums during it’s 6 year span as a group.
After 40Love ended, Mikos began to concentrate more seriously on production and began DJing under the mentorship of the Whooligan, honing his particular strain of sound and falling in love with playing for crowds.
Recent work has included working with Soulection, including releasing his own White Label, and writing a track for their classic compilation with Stussy, creating a beat for Anderson Paak’s 2014 album “Venice”, as well as further work with Watsky – their collaborations now have over 20 million plays on Spotify.
This year Mikos produced on Rayana Jay's “Sorry About Last Night”, which was premiered by Fader, opened Pharrell’s Beats 1 show the week after it was released, and received tweets from Sleepy Brown – whose name titles a track on the album. He also produced on Rexx Life Raj “Father Figure," Caleborate “1993”, Elujay “Jentrify”, Zion I “The Labyrinth”, as well as others.
Mikos currently lives in Los Angeles.
