Tame Impala Announces Select US Tour Dates
Grammy nominated Australian rock band Tame Impala announced plans to return to the U.S. this summer and fall on a 2016 U.S. tour, with a stop at the Greek Theatre in Berkeley on September 2.
The band was nominated for ‘Best Alternative Album’ for their wildly inventive, genre-breaking album Currents. The psych-rock record was written, recorded, produced and mixed by front man Kevin Parker while in Fremantle, West Australia. Lyrically, Parker expresses transitions in life, relationships, along with perspectives and mindsets that map an evolution, finding himself a brand new person.
Tame Impala visited the San Francisco Bay Area last year to perform at Outside Lands. Their 2016 tour stop at the outdoor amphitheater in Berkeley should be even more visually stunning than their daytime performance in Golden Gate Park. Those looking for a fun West Coast road trip might want to consider seeing them at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado on August 31, the tour date just before they come to the Bay Area.
