US Air Guitar is the official air guitar association of the United States, and is responsible for operating the US Air Guitar Championships, Semifinal and National Final events. US Air Guitar is devoted to taking our nation's unofficial pastime out of the bedroom and putting it up on the world stage. Founded in 2003, the US Air Guitar Championships have grown into a major national event that reaches more cities, fans and competitors every year.
In round 1, contestants will have 60 seconds to perform a song or composition of their own creation, and will be judged on a scale from 4.0 to 6.0 on three categories:
Technical Merit: Does it look like you are playing the song we are hearing
Stage Presence: Was the crowd into your performance? Did you Melt their Faces?
Airness: Airness is the ability to transcend the performance into it’s own art for. Or, in layman’s terms; it’s like porno, you’ll know it when you see it.
Perfect score: 6-6-6
Round 2 will be comprised the top 5 scores from round 1, and competitors will be given a 1 minute track chosen from a hat. Scoring will be judged along the same categories.
The top 3 scores will advance to the Semi-Finals at the Independent in San Francisco.
The Sin Sisters Burlesque will be providing half time entertainment
