Bartenders Face Off at the 3rd Annual Scala’s Bloody Mary Battle This Weekend
For those who prefer Bloody Mary’s over Mimosa/Champagne drinks for Sunday bunch, Sunday at Scala’s Bistro is all for you.
Scala’s Bistro and the Sir Francis Drake Hotel are once again playing to the third annual “Bloody Mary Contest” on Sunday, September 8. The event features bartenders and bar managers from 10 different restaurants/bars, who will each be creating their own unique Bloody Mary creation. This year’s theme is “Anything But Vodka,” so expect some unique concoctions featuring tequila, spiced rum, gin and whiskey.
The participants: Beretta, Honor Kitchen (Emeryville), Twenty Five Lusk, Rye, BIG, 15 Romolo, Hog & Rocks, Copita (Sausalito), Novela and Hopscotch (Oakland). There will also be small bites from the new brunch menu of Scala Bistro’s executive chef Larry Finn.
Tickets are $30 for general admission, $40 for VIP. The event runs from noon to 2pm. More info.
