Off the Grid at the Airport
Travelers heading to San Francisco International Airport will have a new food option thanks to Off the Grid, which is launching a two-truck pod on Thursday.
The July 25th launch will feature Boardwalk Eats and Curry Up Now. The pod will be located outside Departures at the International Terminal from 11:00am – 2:00pm each Thursday. There will be a rotating list of vendors so SFO employees who want to try out different food trucks will have something new to choose from each week.
Along with bringing street food to the airport, there is also a new Off the Grid iPhone app, which will allow users to track their favorite food trucks. The app is free and gives iPhone users a guide to Off the Grid’s weekly markets.
The app will show users which markets are open at any given time, what trucks will be appearing at those markets and also give users some fun things to do nearby. There will also be information such as amenities at each market (parking , bathrooms, ATM’s), GPS directions to the nearest market and provide a sample of vendor’s menus. The app can be downloaded at the iTunes store.
