The Best Oyster Deals in San Francisco

With the Guiness Oyster and Music Festival hitting Sharon Meadow this weekend, what better time to look at some of the best deals on oysters in San Francisco.

Anchor & Hope ( 83 Minna Street ) – Anchor & Hope offers a daily weekday Happy Hour, Monday-Friday from 4:30-6:00pm, with a daily pairing special (a half-dozen oysters and pint of stout for $11). There are also other food, beer and wine specials, including the chef’s selection oyster for $1 each.

Bar Crudo ( 655 Divisadero Street ) – This seafood stalwart offers a daily Happy Hour menu (Tuesday-Sunday from 5:00-6:30pm) featuring numerous bites, from it’s Seafood Chowder to Local Rock Cod Tacos. The restaurant also has beer and wine specials and of course, raw seafood, with dollar oysters and herb & jalapeno marinated mussels.

Boxing Room ( 399 Grove Street ) – The Southern cuisine of Chef Justin Simoneaux is offered at this Hayes Valley spot for lunch/brunch and dinner, seven days a week. And while the restaurant doesn’t have an official Happy Hour, they do offer specials from 11:30-4:30 every weekday, including $1 oysters, and $4 beers and $5 wine. The mid-day menu also features Charbroiled Oysters, Cajun Boiled Peanuts and Hushpuppies.

Hog Island Oyster Company (Ferry Building) – Hog Island has long been a gathering spot for oyster fans, especially with its convenient spot in the Ferry Building Marketplace. On Monday and Thursday nights, from 5:00-7:00pm, Hog Island offers special Happy Hour prices, with half off on chef’s choice oysters. There are also beer and wine specials as well.

Hog & Rocks (3431 19th Street) – The Mission District restaurant and bar features a wide selection of oysters and offers a daily special for $1 apiece during Happy Hour (Monday-Friday from 5:00-6:30pm). The menu also features other bites, like fries and chicken liver mousse. There are also drink deals on well drinks and beer and wine as well. Hint – the cocktails from Bar Manager Michael Lazar are a great way to start the evening on a good note.

Mayes Oyster House (1233 Polk Street) – An old school San Francisco seafood restaurant if there ever was one, Mayes Oyster House offers daily specials, both food and drink. $1 oysters, clam chowder, hot wings, seafood gumbo along with beer, wine and cocktail options. Happy Hour is Tuesday-Saturday from 5:00-7:00pm and extended hours on Sunday (5:00-9:00pm).

Mission Rock Resort (817 Terry A Francois Boulevard) – Mission Rock Resort not only offers wonderful views of the Bay, but daily specials during the week. Monday-Friday from 3:00-7:00pm, the restaurant offers oysters, which change daily, for .99 cents. All draft beers are $4, red and white wine is $5 and Happy Hour cocktails for $6. There are tons of other options for those who might be a bit more hungry.

Waterbar (399 The Embarcadero South) – Offering beautiful views and great food and drinks, Waterbar has $1 oysters, with the selection changing daily, everyday from 11:30am to 5:30pm. Waterbar’s Happy Hour looks to pair beer, wine and cocktails with those oyster selections, including featured cocktails for $7, wines for $6 and a $5 featured beer. Drink specials are Monday-Friday from 2:00-5:30pm.
