Easter Events

This weekend is Easter, and no one does this holiday quite like San Franciscans. Get out your Easter basket, dust off your big wheel, iron out that loin cloth – it’s time for the SF Easter Events Round-up.

Here are our picks for the best events going on around town this weekend:

BunnyCon 2012

Put on those bunny ears and zip up those furry suits for this rowdy pub crawl down Polk Street. Think SantaCon but with – you guessed it – the Easter Bunny. Creative and unique costumes are encouraged.

Saturday, April 7, Starting at 1pm, McTeague’s Saloon

Union Street Spring Celebration & Easter Parade

Adults and kids alike will enjoy this family-oriented Easter event down Union Street in the Marina. Restaurants lining the route will be holding special outdoor seating, there will be bouncy houses, rides and games, a petting zoo, live music and there’ll be a prize for the best Easter bonnet.

Sunday, April 8, 10am – 5pm (parade at 2pm), Union Street -Gough to Fillmore

Easter Sunday Butcherfest 2012

Learn how to butcher an entire goat. Chef Rick DeBaord of Cafe’ Rouge will do the demonstration and there’ll be BBQ, including a goat ham sandwich, goat sausage and a curried goat flatbread. Well, at least the Easter Bunny will be spared.

Sunday, April 8, 3-7pm, Bloodhound

Bring Your Own Big Wheel

One of the craziest events of the year is here- BYOBW. Grab that big wheel and ride that thing down the most crooked street in San Francisco (you know, the one tourists don’t know about). Remember no rubber wheels are allowed – ride safely!

Sunday, April 3, 4pm, 20th Street @ Vermont

Pumps & Circumstance

Is that you Hunky Jesus? My, you are so very handsome. Decide for yourself at the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgences signature event. There will be a chidlren’s egg hunt at 11am and then the adult fun starts with entertainment, the Easter Bonnet and Hunky Jesus contest and, of course, the best people watching in town.
