SusieCakes Ready For Grand Opening In Menlo Park
Popular homestyle bakery SusieCakes is celebrating its first Peninsula location with a grand opening party on Saturday afternoon.
The grand opening “Sock Hop” will feature 50’s music and dancing, kid’s games, a balloon artist and complimentary mini-retro desserts.
The celebration will take place from 1-4 pm at the shop’s newest location, 642 Santa Cruz Avenue in Menlo Park.
The first SusieCakes opened in Brentwood (Southern California) in 2006 and shortly thereafter, the company expanded to Calabasas, Newport Beach and Manhattan Beach. In 2010, SusieCakes spread to Northern California, opening in Greenbrae then in San Francisco.
Owner Susan Sarich wanted to develop an all-American bakery and desserts made with the freshest and finest ingredients by in-house bakers, with many of the items taken from her grandmother’s time-tested recipes.
The new SusieCakes in Menlo Park will be 2,200 square feet, the largest bakery by the company to date. There will also be 12 seats available in the bakery to enjoy those tasty treats.
