New Year, New Chefs at Studio Gourmet

Studio Gourmet is ringing in the New Year with a tasting and culinary demo by prize-winning top chef Dean Dupuis of Pican (2295 Broadway, Oakland). Specializing in southern cuisine infused with an innovative, gourmet flair, Chef Dupuis has garnered national attention not only with his mouth-watering menu but with his vigorous support of renewing the New Orleans fishing industry. He has been featured on the Food Network and recently won the 2011 Garlic Showdown at Gilroy’s world-famous annual Garlic Festival.

On January 17th he’ll sit down with host Brad Lev at Circolo (500 Florida Street) for an intimate and in-depth Q & A, followed by a live cooking demonstration where he’ll whip up his renowned Pimiento Cheese Biscuits. Afterwards, guests will be treated to tastings from the eclectic Pican menu including Crawfish Jambalaya, sensationally-smoked Brisket Meatloaf with Cajun Cheddar Aioli and Pecan & Hickory Smoked Pork Ribs with Ground Peanuts and Molasses BBQ Sauce.

The event begins at 5:30pm and seats fill up fast. Tickets are available here and include a welcome cocktail from Chopin Vodka, appetizers and the three-course tasting–a delectable bargain at $50.

Y’all come down now and enjoy some good ol’ country cooking from one of the Bay Area’s best Southern chefs.
