Ken Ken Ramen to Open Own Place

The Mission’s only ramen pop-up restaurant is preparing to open their own place at 3378 18th Street.

For several weeks, Ken Ken Ramen had been teasing followers with hints of the upcoming place on their Twitter feed. Posting pictures of the floor cleanup, construction materials ordered, and new equipment to be added.

Conjecture became reality, when the public notice of the ABC license was posted on the window last week. The new space to open later this year, is just one door down from their current pop-up location, on Thursdays and Sundays at The Corner (Mission @18th St). Note that this week will be their last pop-up.

Ken Ken first debuted a little over a year ago, inside a Salvadorian restaurant in July 2010. Their ramen ($11) is available in shio, shoyu, miso and miso vegetarian broths. The larger space will allow them to offer an expanded menu. Check Twitter for updates.
