Literary Arts: Bookbinding, Internet Archive & Michael Moore

This week, from bookbinding to a memoir by Michael Moore, the literary arts scene is bustling with variety.

Wednesday, get down with your DIY-self at Press: Works on Paper’s Bookbinding Class. The three-hour class costs $75 and will include materials (a book binding kit to practice with and take home to continue your new skill), and a unique experience creating a soft-cover, open-spine book with the hip, herringbone stitch.

On Thursday, head out to the water (Pier 1) for George Oates’ lecture on The Future of Digital Archiving.  Oates is part of the Internet Archive, a super cool, super geeky, SF-based non-profit that’s literally been archiving the Internet for 15 years! See what these hard-working modern historians are all about.

This Saturday, expect a herd of frenzied fans at Books Inc. Opera Plaza, for the ever controversial Michael Moore, and his latest, Here Comes Trouble: Stories From My Life.  Hop in line and have this anti-memoir (of sorts) signed by Moore truly.
