Improved Bocce Courts Part of Crocker Amazon Park Revitalization

The bocce ball courts at San Francisco’s Crocker Amazon Park have been renovated, part of a $265,000 project that also includes installing a new water-saving irrigations system.

City Recreation and Park Department officials said the improvements to the courts include exterior screens, roof repairs, new gutters, the waterproofing of the back retaining wall, a new service counter, sink and storage cabinet and an upgraded electrical system.

Initial project funding was provided through a $100,000 add-back from the Board of Supervisors to the Public Utilities Commission; funds were then transferred to SF Recreation and Parks to implement the improvements to the park.  Open Space funds were used to complete the project.

City officials gathered earlier this week at the park for a ribbon cutting ceremony, part of the National Night Out celebration.
