Food Fest to Invade San Mateo

Over 24 Bay Area food trucks are taking their act to the San Mateo Events Center on Friday night, part of the Moveable Feast, San Mateo’s first food truck festival.

Moveable Feast began in San Jose as part of a local fair, showcasing products and merchandise from local, smaller brands.

It evolved into a larger showcase combined with a food festival earlier this year, with several Bay Area food carts gathering near San Pedro Square. The masses were hungry and restless for the first event, which drew a larger than expected crowd.

And with each passing event, thousands have gathered in the South Bay, craving the best in street food.

Founded by the husband and wife team of Ryan and Christine Sebastian, owners of Treatbot, a karaoke ice cream truck, the event is now headed up the freeway to the San Mateo Events Center.

Friday’s event will also feature live music, along with local art and fashion vendors. Festivities and grub start at 5:30.
