The Oldest Winery in the World

The Wall Street Journal reports that scientists have discovered the oldest winery in the world in Armenia. The winery dates back to 6,100 years ago and proves that people were lushes even way back then.

According to the WSJ, “…archaeologists unearthed a large vat set in a platform for treading grapes, along with the well-preserved remains of crushed grapes, seeds and vine leaves, dating to about 6,100 years ago—a thousand years older than other comparable finds.”

But this isn’t the first finding of alcohol creation in civilization. They were brewing up rice wine in China as early as 9,000 years ago! Now that’s what I call a vintage.
