15th Annual 50|50 Show Opens Sept 8 - 9
Pacifica, CA Sanchez Art Center announces the most wonderful time of year: the 50|50 Show!
Celebrating 15 years, the 50|50 Show has become a destination for art lovers throughout the greater SF Bay Area and beyond. Since the first show, 45,950 small (6" x 6") affordable artworks have been created by +900 artists. The Opening Benefit Fundraiser will be held Fri, Sept 8 - Sat, Sept 9. Tickets are limited and none will be available at the door, so purchase yours early on Eventbrite.com. The Benefit Fundraiser provides the opportunity to select your day and timed interval to see the show -- the only days to view all 2,750 works in their entirety -- and also offers live music, the opportunity to chat with artists in the show, and to purchase your favorite pieces. (Note: all works stay on the wall during the opening, and can either be picked up or shipped to buyers for a small fee as of the week of Sept 11.)
Can't make the opening? Don't worry! The dazzling array of work in a variety of mediums that is particularly exciting this year featuring works in clay, acrylic and oil paint, metal, watercolor, pastel, encaustic, glass and more, will open to the general public at no charge on Sunday, Sept 10, 1- 5 pm. Art enthusiasts making purchases after the opening will get to immediately take their newly acquired artworks home. From Fri, Sept 15 through the show's closing on Sun, Oct 1, galleries are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 1- 5 pm. Visitors are also welcomed in the afternoon during the week by appointment. 70% of art sales go directly to the artists. Proceeds from the opening fundraiser and 30% of art sales support Sanchez Art Center, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission of Creating Community through Art.
