Celebrate the 2016 Olympic Games at Mission Neighborhood Bar Elixir

Looking for an ideal spot to cheer on Team USA? Start your Olympic celebrations in grand style this week at 16th Street watering hole Elixir. The bar is offering daily Olympic coverage and drink specials throughout the games. The opening ceremony is this Friday, August 5.

Four TVs will show different Olympic programming, Monday through Friday, from 3pm until close, and noon to close on Saturday and Sunday. Beginning August 5, for the opening ceremony, and continuing again during final events from August 18 through the closing ceremony on August 21, Elixir will have $6 shots of bourbon, $2 off Bloody Mary’s, $1 of draft beers until 6pm on Saturday and Sunday, and $2 off Olympic cocktails menu.

Most impressively, their late summer season menu features two Olympic cocktails: “The Olympic Torch” (Cachaça, watermelon juice, yuzu juice, lime juice, clover honey syrup; shaken and served over crushed ice with a honey powdered rim) and “Team America USA (F**k Yeah)” (bourbon, cinnamon liqueur, orgeat, muddled strawberry, lemon juice, and bitters)–served on crushed ice with an American flag.

For the opening ceremony, Elixir will also offer $6 glasses of celebratory Prosecco. In addition, regular happy hour specials run Monday through Friday from 3-7pm with $1 off Olympic cocktails draft beer, well cocktails, and draft wine, plus $2 off the classic cocktail menu.

See below for the weekend calendar of Olympic events scheduled to air at Elixir. Best of luck to Team USA and enjoy the Rio Olympics with a drink (or two)!
