Best of 2014: DJ D-Sharp’s Best Songs of 2014

The official DJ for the Golden State Warriors, Oakland-based DJ D-Sharp can be found moving big crowds at clubs throughout the Bay Area when he’s not holding court at Oracle Arena.

Below, he shares his picks for best songs of 2014:

DJ Snake feat. Lil Jon – “Turn Down for What”
A lot of folks thought this was a Lil Jon record but DJ Snake produced and killed this track! This was the one track that I could play at any club with any format (EDM, Hip Hop, Dance, Top 40, Trap) and get everybody going instantly.

Jay-Z ft. Rick Ross – “F#ckWithMeYouKnowIGotIt (THUGLI Remix)”
This track was a go-to track for me all of 2014. The original is 128 bpms and this remix is 70 bpms, which made it easier to play during my trap sets.

Dom La Nena – “Batuque (Jeremy Sole & Atropolis Remix)”
I heard this watching my favorite cable TV show “Power” on Starz (think The Wire and Sopranos). The music fit the scene perfectly. I Shazamed it and downloaded it instantly.

Pharrell Williams – “Happy (DJ D-Dsharp Remix)”
I played “Happy” on my radio show #SSMR back in 2013, then it blew up out of nowhere. When I got it, I thought it was just a cool track that Pharrell did his little singing thing. I had no idea that it would turn into the monster it did. I had to remix it.

Trey Songz – “Nana (DJ Sliink Remix)”
This got heavy rotation from me in 2014. This crazy Jersey Club remix by DJ Sliink had my dance floors on tilt.

Chis Brown – “Loyal”
Probably the hottest club song of 2014. To this day the entire club will sing along with this song word for word at the top of their lungs. Even the un-loyal women, lol.

Wiz Khalifa – “We Dem Boyz”
Anthem!

Martin Garrix – “Animals”
This track is crazy and sounds amazing in a arena. I play this a lot at Oracle during Warriors games.

Calvin Harris – “Summer (Diplo & Grandtheft Remix)”
A Dope trap remix of this summer classic! I had pretty chicks requesting this song all summer long.

Bobby Shmurda – Hot N*gga
A guilty pleasure. The dance set this record off for sure, and the vine comps didn’t hurt at all either.
