German EDM duo Modeselektor kick off their U.S. tour in San Francisco tonight at 103 Harriet before heading to Coachella.
The duo is known for mixing an experimental combination of genres, focusing on breakbeat and glitch, but also including rougher elements from metal and hip hop. The result is unique tracks with chaotic and captivating layers.
In addition to the band’s strong individual presence in the EDM scene, they have also collaborated with a number of other highly regarded electronic acts including glitch-heavy Apparat, who they toured and released an album with under the name Moderat in 2009.
Modeselektor plays at 103 Harriet on Friday, April 13th. The show starts at 10pm and tickets are $30.
