New Exhibition “Geometric Godesses” Graces SF

“Geometric Godesses,” an exhibition examining abstract forms, opens Friday, March 9 at the Roll Up Gallery at Public Works in the Inner Mission.

“New City” by Araujo and “Dissolving Ego” by Sass

Featured in the artist showcase are Patricia Araujo and Spencer Sass. Araujo will also be presenting her new book, Tommorowland Today, a monograph that collects together her complete painted works.

Araujo is inspired by futuristic, classical, and industrial architecture and is especially interested in the Mid-Market neighborhood in San Francisco. Her paintings to be featured in “Geometric Godesses” link dreamy women to industrial landscapes.

Sass has been influenced by his travels to Southeast Asia and India and incorporates the sounds, sights, colors and religious iconography of these areas into his work.

The opening (21 and over) reception will be held Friday, March 9 from 6pm to 9pm. It will feature live music from Babie Khat Stompers and is free to the public. The exhibit will run through March 25, 2012.
