Yellow Pages Ban

Those unwieldy bricks also known as the Yellow Pages may finally be out of our lives for good. Unless you request yours, the Board of Supervisors is one step closer to banning the delivery of unwanted phone directories. Of course, the final vote is next week and the Yellow Page industry is in full lobbying mode.

According to Board of Supervisors President David Chiu, an estimated “1.6 million copies of the Yellow Pages, produced by various companies, are distributed in San Francisco every year and cost at least $1 million annually to process through the waste stream.” [SF Chron]
