Straight outta Compton, California, rapper Kendrick Lamar takes the stage at 330 Ritch for the latest installment of Showtime at the Ritch this Sunday.

Kendrick is a new, talented conscious rapper on the scene. He relesead his self-titled EP in 2009, and spend much of 2010 on tour with independent artists Tech N9ne and Jay Rock on the Independent Grind tour.In 201,0Kendrick also released the highly anticipated project O(verly) D(edicated), which was well received by the blogsphere.

He has confirmed to be on Dr. Dre’s long-awaited Detox album, and is linked to a collaboration project with Roc Nation’s J. Cole some time this year. According to Kendrick, his first studio album is 90% complete, and will be titled Section 80 with the first single titled “Hiii Power,”produced by J. Cole.
